EPD anti-dengue squads conduct raids

Punjab Environment Protection Department Secretary Saeed Iqbal Walah and MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir along with four anti-dengue squads of EPD on Monday conducted raids in various parts of the provincial metropolis to prevent the spread of dengue. On the occasion, they sealed two auto workshops besides issued notices to three plants nurseries and two railway workshops.
The EPD squads conducted raids at Shama Chowk, Ferozpur Road and sealed two auto workshops namely Suhail Auto Workshop and Bilal Autos for not adopting safety measures against the dengue virus. They sealed the workshops and asked to the owners to remove tyres from shop's rooftops and cover the all body parts by using tarpaulin. Later, the EPD squad also inspected Lahore Dry Port and Railway Garage in Mughalpura and issued notice to railway administration for not having sufficient cleanliness arrangements there.
They also directed them to remove the all unnecessary scrap and other good from the dry port on immediate basis. The EPD Squad has also issued notice to three nurseries' owners including Shah Muqeem Nursery, Naveed Nursery and Data Nursery for placing the empty plant port without cover in open air.
