The Lahore High Court here on Monday dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of PML-N leader Marvi Memon. The petitioner Najam pleaded that the Punjab government had given Rs 300 million to Marvi in the name of development fund after she joined PML-N. He said the lady politician used that money for development works in Sindh which, he said, was an illegal act.
He therefore prayed to the court that Marvi be declared disqualify for contesting election in future. The court while dismissing the petition observed that the court could not disqualify any politician merely on the basis of speculations.
