03 Apr, 2012

The Lahore High Court here on Monday gave last opportunity to District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat to recover an alleged abducted girl within one week. Earlier DPO said that public notices inscribing photo of the missing girl had been pasted on important places of the Gujrat city.
The court therefore directed the officer to recover the girl and produced her on next hearing on April 09. The court also directed DPO to submit a written reply to explain his non appearance despite several court notices. An elderly woman Bilqees Bibi said her daughter was a student of Hafiz-i-Quran at a madrassa in Kharian and alleged that two caretakers and an employee of the madrassa had kidnapped her. Petitioner said police during the case investigation exonerated the caretakers Qazi Ameer and Qazi Tauqeer from the charges and booked their employee Aftab. She said the caretakers also implicated her in a dacoity case.
