Call for further measures to curb dengue

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Kh. Salman Rafique has directed officers of all concerned departments including health department to take measures for further accelerating the existing pace of vector surveillance at union council level for curbing the breeding of dengue mosquito keeping in view the rising temperature so that dengue mosquito could not breed at any cost.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of Cabinet committee for reviewing the implementation of steps for eradication of dengue, here on Monday. Provincial Minister for Planning & Development Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, elected representatives of Lahore, secretaries and additional secretaries of health, environment, information and other concerned departments attended the meeting. Officers of all the departments gave briefings about performance of their respective departments with regard to eradication of dengue. Assembly members identified garbage in various areas of the city upon which Kh. Salman Rafique directed Commissioner Lahore to take immediate steps for removing garbage.
