Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) President Sardar Zafar Hussein and General Secretary Malik Muhammad Ramzan Rohari have strongly criticised the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products and termed it as exploitation of the growers and the masses. In a joint statement issued on Monday they said that the government was again and again giving shocks of price increase to the masses.
They termed increase in diesel prices as dacoits on basic human rights. They alleged that the masses had not been given any relief by the government since the day one. They said the increase in diesel prices would make agriculture impossible for the growers. They said increase in the prices of electricity, seed, pesticides and other agricultural inputs and agricultural implements had not only destroyed the rural economy but would also result in reduction in the production of sugarcane, rice, wheat and other crops leading country to a serious food crisis.
They said that India was also depriving Pakistan of its share in precious water of different rivers and it was producing so much electricity that now started talking exporting electricity to Pakistan. KBP leaders warned the government that 70 per cent of the farmers of the country were sick of the present rulers and their policies were compelling them to come on roads.
