Growers advised to harvest matured wheat crop

Growers were advised to start harvesting the matured wheat crop so that the timely cultivation of the coming cotton crop could be possible. Met office in its advisory said that wheat crop was growing in wax to full maturity in the upper half of the agriculture plains and at full maturity in most of the lower half of the country, adding that farmers should harvest the full matured crop so that in time cultivation of the coming cotton crop may be possible.
It said harvesting/threshing of wheat crop is in progress in the agricultural plains of Sindh and adjoining areas of South Punjab and Eastern Balochistan. The expected dry weather is suitable for in time maturity/harvesting of the crop, it said. It forecast mainly dry weather in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa till April 10. However, it said thunderstorm/rains is expected at isolated places in Malakand and Hazara divisions during April 5 to April 10. The office also predicted isolated thunderstorm/rains in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on April 5 and April 6.
