05 Apr, 2012

Former Punjab Chief Minister and sitting provincial Minister for Industries Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa on Wednesday tendered his resignation from the office of minister-ship. Dost Khosa stated in his resignation that he was resigning due to personal reasons.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has accepted his resignation and also moved the summary of resignation to the Governor of Punjab for formal approval, sources said. Sources claimed that Dost Muhammad Khosa was facing pressure to resign from his cabinet post after the Lahore High Court (LHC) had directed to register a case against him in the matter pertaining to the kidnapping and murder of actress Sapna, who was his former spouse.
According to them, Dost Khosa was out of the scene since last few months and he also criticised the Chief Minister Punjab for keeping the slot of Health Minister with him. Khosa was also desirous to get the party office in PML-N Punjab but he could not get success. Dost Muhammad Khosa had already said he was innocent in Sapna kidnapping scandal, adding time would prove his innocence.
