District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Noorul Amin Mengal has ordered to constitute a food-street management committee on Wednesday. He gave the orders while addressing a meeting that was attended by PSO to CM, assistant commissioner city, TMO DGBT, DO industry, DO environment, society member of food-street and others, disclosed an official.
The DCO said this committee will comprise of four registered members of the food-street society and an impartial member having mandate to supervise and run the affairs of food-street. "The committee will enforce the rules and regulations under bylaws made for food-street," he added.
The DCO also said an audit wing should be set up for making the financial affairs of the food-streets transparent and the society members should help the city government for making them a model food-street. He said the government desires that the businessmen should become self-reliance and themselves run the affairs of food-streets' the city government will extend full support to them in this regard.
