SNF protests against flawed electoral rolls

05 Apr, 2012

Sindh National Front (SNF) has protested against what it considers "partisan approach of SDM Ratodero in correction of wrong entries in new electoral rolls." SNF Vice-Chairman Ameer Buksh Bhutto in a letter sent to the Chief Election Commissioner on April 3 has pointed out that a significant number of wrong entries have been detected in the new electoral rolls in his constituency, PS-37 Larkana 11.
SNF workers, he said had filed objections to those entries and fulfilled all requirements in accordance with the rules, but SDM Ratodero, who has been appointed in-charge for making correction, has adopted a highly partisan approach. He is procrastinating and delaying in taking action on the objections SNF has filed but entertains any objections filed by "our opponents with haste."
"This is most unfair and amounts to pre-poll rigging. It will render the task of compilation of error-free electoral rolls impossible," he said. Ameer Buksh Bhutto has requested "to kindly inquire into this and ensure that the process of compilation of the new electoral rolls is carried out in a transparent, impartial and fair manner."
