Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) and All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) have expressed profound grief over the sad demise of Abdul Rashid Ghazi, Publisher and Chief Editor of Daily Business Report, Faisalabad. Ghazi was member of the CPNE Standing Committee and APNS Executive Committee.
He was also Joint Secretary of the CPNE for the year 2003-04. In 1942, he received Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at Lyallpur Railway Station (Presently Faisalabad). He actively took part in the movement of Tehrik-e-Pakistan and was awarded "Tehrik-e-Pakistan Gold Medal" by Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust.
The APNS Executive Committee at its meeting held on March 04, 2012 had decided to give him Lifetime Achievement Award to acknowledge his services for the newspaper industry. The CPNE and APNS Office Bearers expressed their condolence and prayed that may Almighty Allah rest the departed soul in peace and give patience to the bereaved family and his friends and colleagues to bear the irreparable loss.-PR
