Provincial Secretary of Excise & Taxation Department Manzoor Ahmed Memon visited Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (HCCI), here on Thursday. Director General Excise & Taxation Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui, Director Excise & Taxation Aurangzeb Panhwar and Director Excise & Taxation Mirpurkhas Pir Mujeeb Jan Sarhandi were also accompanied with him.
Addressing the members of HCCI and traders, Manzoor Memon said the registration of new vehicles could be made through pay order in any bank. Memon said that the provincial government made the schedule of tax and the payment of property tax in Industrial Trading Estate was the responsibility of owners.
He said that the property tax challan is issued on the measurement of area in industrial unit. The plot of 120 yards, 600 square flat and widows are exempted from tax and neither property challan will be issued against them, he said. He advised widows to contact the Excise & Taxation Department to avail facility.
The Provincial Secretary said that tax system would be computerised by 30th June, 2012 and computerised challans would be issued from next year. Earlier, the Senior Vice President of HCCI Turab Ali Khoja welcomed the honourable guests and said that the trader community and people wanted to pay the tax but the difficult laws regarding tax payment are the hurdles to tax collection.
He urged the Excise & Taxation to make the easy laws in the interest of industrial sector and people. On the occasion, the sub-committee Chairman of Excise & Taxation Abdul Sattar Khan briefed about difficulties being faced by the trader community regarding to property tax challan, professional tax, registration payment and others.
He urged Secretary of Excise & Taxation to address the complaints of traders. The meeting was attended by Vice President Abdul Saleem Arain, Former President Haji Muhammad Yaqoob, Dr M Fareed Qasim, Iqbal Baig, Yousuf Dada, Kamran Shafique and others.
