Polio vaccination certificate made mandatory for petitioners

Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court (PHC) Justice Dost Muhammad Khan in a suo motu notice of new polio cases, has asked the petitioners to submit a certificate of polio vaccination to his/her children along with petition's copy. During the court proceedings, the chief justice remarked that the polio cases were increasing and it is high time to overcome this disease and save the coming generation from permanent disability.
He ordered the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure immunisation of each child under the age of 5 against polio. He said it would be made mandatory for petitioners to get their children vaccinated against polio prior to seeking justice from the court. The petition would have to submit a copy of certificate of polio vaccination of his/her children along with petition, he added. The chief justice said that a notification to this effect would soon be issued. He also directed distribution of a circular regarding submission of the certificate in provincial bar council.
