Unknown armed men barged into the office of Prosecutor Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Chaudhry Zulfiqar and took away various files, including the one that relates to Benazir Bhutto assassination case, on Saturday night. The office of FIA prosecutor is located at district courts a few yards from the office of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Islamabad.
"Four armed men entered the office of Chaudhry Zulfiaqar and held him at gunpoint. They retrieved different files from the cupboard and fled the scene. They removed items that included the draft reply which he had prepared to submit to the apex court in a case filed by Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry (protocol officer of Benazir Bhutto) seeking to register second FIR in Benazir Bhutto a case, source said.
He said that soon after the incident, the FIA prosecutor went to Margalla Police Station to register an FIR against the unknown armed persons. Police, however, did not register the FIR due to the alleged pressure of Interior Ministry, source revealed. Source said that the police arrested a person namely Mujahid, and also recovered some files from his possession. Police however did not confirm whether the files recovered from that person were related to Benazir's murder case or not.
