Imran Khan hits out at rulers

09 Apr, 2012

Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan has said that people of the country have never faced such difficulties as they are facing today and on the other hand the rulers are enjoying power. Addressing a large public gathering here on Sunday, he prayed for safe recovery of soldiers trapped in Siachen.
He said that the current leadership is incapable of liberating Pakistan as it emerged as a result of NRO given by foreign powers. He pledged that PTI would disengage from the war on terror through dialogue and would liberate Pakistan from foreign influence.
Talking about the recently launched membership drive, Khan said that PTI would bring true democracy in the country after emerging as the only democratically elected party of the country. He urged people to become members of PTI and elect their own leadership.
He said that no political party in the country is capable of giving this democratic right to its members. Criticising the leaderships of PML N and PPP he emphasised that these were family run parties and competent and capable leadership cannot emerge in these parties due to their dynastic hierarchies.
He said that the present system of government was introduced by the British to subjugate the masses and the political leadership of this country has perpetuated this system for their own interests. He said that PTI would liberate the rural population from this unjust system and would introduce a local government system, which would ensure autonomy at the level of villages.
About new administrative units, he cited examples of Turkey and Japan and said that both these countries are considerably less populated than Pakistan but have exponentially more administrative units. He said that PTI supported creation of new provinces including the Hazara province, as it would expedite development.
He thanked the people for attending the rally and said PTI would prove in the coming elections that the people of Pakistan have rejected the corrupt political leadership.
