IPCCI hails President's visit

India-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (IPCCI) President, S.M. Muneer, has hailed the visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to India. In a statement issued on Tuesday, President IPCCI said that the visit was a positive sign and reflection of the desire of Pakistan that it would like to have cordial and friendly relationship with India.
He said talks between President of Pakistan and Prime Minister of India covered a long range of issues and the declaration of the talks has given an indication that both the governments are serious to find practical and pragmatic solution to all issues, which will open a new era of co-operation and friendship.
He further said the most important outcome of the bilateral talks was that both the leaders have emphasised on the improvement of people to people contacts, restrictions of visa agreement and expansion of bilateral trade. The IPCCI also welcomed the decision of Dr Manmohan Singh to visit Pakistan and added that the long awaited visit of Dr Manmohan Singh will go a long way in promotion of bilateral trade relations. Particularly the two countries will come closer in economic ties and direct trade relations, eliminating the involvement of third world countries, he said.
