The priorities committee on Wednesday discussed allocation of current as well as development budget of 15 ministries and divisions for next fiscal year.
Source said that the meeting of priorities committee, which held at Ministry of Finance, discussed allocation of budget for Ministry of Communication (including NHA), National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Wafaqi Mohtasib, Ministry of Commerce, National Food Security & Research, Scientific & Technological Research, National Regulations & Services, National Assembly, Privatisation Commission, Foreign Affairs, Inter Provincial Co-ordination, Port and Shipping, Petroleum & Natural Resources, Chairman Federal Shariat Court and Textile Industry. These ministries and divisions also submitted their demands for indicative ceilings for 2013-14 and 2014-15 for development and current expenditure.
An official said the meeting discussed on Tuesday current and development allocation of Cabinet Division, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit-Baltistan, States & Frontier Regions, Additional Chief Secretary FATA, National Harmony Division, Executive Director Higher Education Commission, Law Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Information Technology & Telecommunication, Chairman Federal Public Service Commission, Statistics Division, National Heritage & Integration and Religious Affairs Division. The priorities committee meeting would continue for another two days, Thursday and Friday, to finalise the development and current budget for the remaining 21 ministries and division.
