Farmers' advisory

Wheat farmers are advised to harvest the full matured crop immediately with a view to provide land for the timely cultivation of next cotton crop, the Met Office said on Wednesday. The office in its ten-day farmers advisory said, "wheat crop is growing in wax to full maturity in the agriculture plains and harvesting/threshing is in progress in lower half of the country, especially southern parts of Punjab and most of the agricultural plains of Sindh".
It said the growers were advised to start harvesting keeping the above forecast in mind. "Farmers are also advised to harvest the full matured crop so that in time cultivation of the coming cotton crop may be possible," it added. In Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it forecast light to moderate rain with thunderstorm from April 11 to April 15.
It said mostly dry weather in all agricultural plains of the Punjab with dust storm in southern plains is expected from April 15 to April 20. It said light to moderate rain with thunderstorm was expected in western parts of Balochistan from April 11 to April 15 and mostly dry weather was expected from April 15 to April 20. In Sindh, the office said mainly dry weather is expected during the period.
