'Punjab government to provide assistance to social workers'

Minister for Labour Punjab, Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi has said that those persons, who dedicate their lives & resources for social welfare, are the assets of the society and Punjab government would provide all out co-operation and assistance to such people as well as NGOs.
He stressed upon the social workers for launching massive awareness campaign for sensitising the people about hazardous aspects of smoking with a view to prevent TB, heart, lungs, bronchitis and various types of lungs cancer. He said that it is high time for promoting social mobilisation against smoking, TB and cancer.
While talking to the delegation of NGOs here on Wednesday, Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi said that provincial government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, is providing free medicines, diagnostic and treatment facilities in the public sector hospitals of the province and standardised education to the students, whereas, record funds have been allocated for this purpose to health, education and social sectors. He said that provincial government is providing maximum funds for the social uplift and public welfare activities; however, he emphasised the need for launching a public awareness campaign regarding help of needy persons and philanthropist activities.
