PAD's directive to cotton growers

A spokesman of Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) on Friday has advised the cotton growers to use approved quality and certified seeds pay special attention on recommendations/directives issued by the agricultural experts to ensure maximum yield and good crop of cotton. He also said that cotton would be sown on 6.2 million acres of land in the province this year.
Experts said that if seed is poisoned before sowing then it could save the plant from sucking pests and leaf curl virus from 35 to 40 days. Many other guidelines have also been issued like sowing with drill method, sowing of seed at a distance of 2.5 feet and others for getting a good cotton crop.
