An accountability court on Saturday extended physical remand of former General Manager Operations Pakistan Railways, Saeed Akhtar and directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab to produce him on April 26. The NAB had arrested Akhtar from Islamabad for his alleged misappropriation in Railways scarp sale scam.
According to the details, the accused caused a huge loss to the national exchequer by selling railways scarp on a price lesser than the market value. He was accused of purchasing substandard oil that made many locomotives out of order. He also committed misappropriation in recently launched Business Train.
