A petition seeking judicial enquiry into alleged massive corruption in laptop scheme launched by Chief Minister Punjab has been filed before the Lahore High Court A bar member Mian Shahid Abbas has made PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif respondents in the petition.
The petitioner says as per a report of Transparency International, laptop scheme launched by Mian Shahbaz Sharif will caused a loss of Rs 1.70 billion to national exchequer. He said each laptop was worth of Rs 25000 but it was purchased at a rate of Rs 35000 each. The petitioner therefore prayed to the court to order for judicial inquiry into the matter.
