Call to hold international moot on Sufism

Noted scholars and educationists have urged the government to take efforts for holding of international conference on Sufism for promotion of message of peace and harmony and to invite scholars from all over world for the understanding of message of the Sufi's.
The scholars have made their demand in their recommendations passed in second day of 2-day national conference on 'Role of Sufis to International Religious Harmony and Tolerance' organised by the Faculty of Islamic Studies University of Sindh in collaboration with Higher Education Commission Islamabad at Allama I.I. Kazi Campus Jamshoro on Tuesday.
The session was presided over by Sindh University's former Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui while Syed Waqar Hussain Shah (son of Syed Nisar Hussain Shah) of Shah Abdul Latif Foundation was chief guest and Dr Imdad Ali Ismaili Pro-Vice Chancellor Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas was guest of honour.
The scholars in their recommendations said that there is need to establish Sufi Research Chairs in all Universities and introduce of Sufism as a subject in departments of Arabic and Islamic Culture at University and College level. The speakers also recommended the establishment of Sufi University for research the promotion of message of Sufis towards harmony and peace and love and suggested the name of University as Shah Abdul Latif Bhatia Sufi University at Bhitt Shah. The speakers also urged the government to organise yearly International Conference on Sufism and suggested to invite international scholars to participate and share their views.
It also suggested to the government to establish Sufi Chairs at the European Countries like Pakistan Studies and Urdu Chairs for the promotion of research and message of Sufi's in the world. The conference has proposed the translation of books on Sufism to make available for the study of common men for awareness and understanding to Sufism. The conference in connection with research, further recommended the establishment of Sufi Foundation and quarterly research magazine for the promotion of research on the mystism.
Former Vice Chancellor of Sindh University Mazharul Haq Siddiqui appreciated efforts made by the Faculty of Islamic Studies for holding important conference on the important topic. He said that the Sufism was continuous message of peace and harmony through message of study of Quran through the Sufism.
