Farmers advised to begin wheat harvesting

Farmers are advised to start harvesting after the full matured of wheat crop with a view to provide land for the timely cultivation of cotton crop, the met office said on Friday. It said wheat crop was growing to full maturity in the agriculture plains of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Punjab and Balochistan, whereas harvesting/ threshing of wheat crop had been completed in agricultural plains of Sindh.
It forecast light to moderate rain with thunderstorm in intervals during the next 10 days in the Potohar and adjoining plains of Punjab. However, it said, light rain in intervals for 2-3 days was expected mostly during next five days in central and southern agricultural plains of the province.
It said light to moderate rain with thunderstorm was expected in the upper agricultural plains of KP during the next 10 days and light to moderate rain during next 2-3 days in plains of D.I Khan and Bannu. Mainly dry weather has been predicted in Sindh during the next 10 days, saying however light rain during the next 1-2 days was expected in the next five days.
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorm is expected in most of the agricultural plains of Balochistan, it forecast for the next five days. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, the office said light rain with thunderstorm was expected during the next 10 days.
