Two killed in drive-by shooting

Although Sindh police have directed the restaurant owners to suspend all commercial activities by 11pm to avoid firing incidents, two more persons were shot dead in Sohrab Goth police remits. According to police and rescue sources, two men - Nisar Khuda Bux and Abu Qasim - were shot dead in a drive-by shooting at Zakir Hotel in Laasi Goth in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station.
Police said the deceased Nisar had quarrelled with someone an hour before the incident They quoted eyewitnesses as saying that both gunmen, who were riding motorcycle, were Pakhtuns. SHO Abdul Ghaffar Jumani said the main target was Nisar while a stray bullet had hit Abu Qasim, killing him instantly. A 30-year-old man named Noman Bashir was killed in Orangi Town in the limits of the Mominabad police station.
Meanwhile, a bus conductor was shot dead in the Mangopir area in the limits of the Mangopir police station. Police said that Mahisal Khan was shot five times by Ayaz Khan. The accused Ayaz evaded arrest while police had detained his wife Taskeen for questioning.
Taskeen said that her husband owed Rs 60,000 to Mahisal and shot him when he tried to assault her. Police said both the accused and the victim belonged to Mardan. A contractor was killed while two alleged bandits were arrested in the limits of the Sharafi Goth police station.
Police said the incident took place at Ismail Panwar Goth where Atta Muhammad was shot dead by two alleged bandits when he offered resistance during a robbery. Local people had caught the suspects and tortured them before handing them over to police. Police identified the alleged bandits as Saeedullah and Sohail.
