Indian businessmen keen to participate in 'My Karachi' exposition

Indian business community has shown interest to participate in Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) annual event 'My Karachi - Oasis of Harmony' exhibition scheduled to be held in July 2012. After success of Lifestyle Pakistan exhibition held in New Delhi from April 12 till 15, the Indian business community has shown more interest to participate in exhibitions held in Pakistan from time to time.
During recent visit of India, KCCI Senior Vice President Younis Bashir has extended invitation to Indian companies to participate in KCCI annual event. More than 70 companies have shown interest in the event. Bombay CCI has also shown interest to participate in three-day My Karachi exhibition scheduled, whereas Federation of Indian Chambers is expected to take one stall in the exhibition.
Formally KCCI has already invited India, China, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Germany, UAE and other countries to participate in the exhibition. Launching ceremony of the exhibition is likely to be held during the current month and the chamber has invited Governor of Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to participate in the ceremony.
The chamber is holding this mega event since last nine years to improve image of Karachi in the eyes of foreign investors and traders. The Chamber has designed ninth "My Karachi - Oasis of Harmony (2012)" exhibition, to act as the avenue for image building of the country.
However, continuously its image was tarnished by way of adverse propaganda made by the Western media, and the state of affairs demand that Karachiities especially the business and industrial community to come forward to combat and rebuild the image of metropolis in particular and Pakistan in general and make this event successful.
