Nadeem Lodhi appointed Citi Country Officer-Pakistan

Nadeem Lodhi has been appointed as Citi Country Officer (CCO) for Pakistan wef April 23, 2012. Nadeem will report to Atiq Ur-Rehman, Cluster Head for the Middle East. As CCO, Nadeem will serve the critical role of protecting and leading the Citi franchise in Pakistan. The CCO role is the face of Citi to key stakeholders in Pakistan.
The CCO is accountable for franchise governance and management, including regulatory relationships, public sector business and government relationships, compliance and AML, human resources, corporate and community affairs, crisis management, and P&L management.
The safety and soundness of the franchise is a principal area of focus for the CCO. Soundness comes from promoting a culture of control; safety by having a robust COB plan that is understood and known throughout the franchise, and that will help support Citi's operations in cases of crisis. The CCO also has a critical role working with the Citi Foundation on local programs. As Citi's senior person in Pakistan, Citi looks to Nadeem to maintain and reinforce client relationships at all levels of the organisation.
Nadeem rejoins Citi from Abraaj Capital where he was heading the business for Sub Sahara Africa. Prior to his time at Abraaj Capital, he served in a number of roles at Dubai Islamic Bank Capital. In Nadeem's previous time at Citi he held various roles in Pakistan and Africa, including serving as the CCO of Uganda until January 2006. Prior to joining Citi in 1994, Nadeem worked in both London and Pakistan for ANZ Grindlays Bank plc. Nadeem holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and finance from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, USA.
