Government considering introducing e-governance in all sectors

Federal Minister for Information Technology (IT) Raja Pervez Asharaf said that government will try to introduce e-governance in almost all sectors of Pakistan and Capital Development Authority (CDA) would be made first model. E-Governance is the governance of tomorrow and our future, said Pervez Ashraf while addressing senior officials of the IT Ministry on Wednesday.
"Network of IT would be spread in each and every corner of Pakistan including far off areas of Gilgit-Baltistan," said the minister, adding that it was a big challenge for him to undertake this uphill task of uplift of the IT Ministry. The minister asserted that his main focus would be timely completion of various projects of IT, adding that the government was fully committed to launch various pilot projects of e-governance and computerisation of revenue system including Patwarkhanas would be encouraged by the federal government.
The minister also held an interactive session with heads of various attached departments of the IT Ministry who briefed the minister about the performance of their respective departments. He said that along with various on-going schemes of IT, one mega programme in IT sector should be launched and completed on priority basis.-PR
