Brazil's cocoa arrivals slip

27 Apr, 2012

Deliveries of cocoa to warehouses in Brazil slowed in the last week due to problems in the early harvest of the Temporao, or mid-crop, in reaching the terminal market. Next week will be the statistical close of the 2011/12 main crop in the official Brazilian May-April season.
Beans from the northern state of Para had problems reaching processors in Bahia, the Bahia Commercial Association said. Farm gate prices in the range of 71-73 reais ($37.72 to $38.79) per arroba (15 kg) by Tuesday, little changed from 70-73 reais in the previous week.
