LAHORE: Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Friday said that restructuring and right-sizing work in Pakistan Railways had been started for the first time in the history of the country.
He was presiding over different meetings held here at the Railways Headquarters.
He said that the first phase of the restructuring and right-sizing had been completed by a committee headed by Maqsoodun Nabi and database of more than 95,000 employees had been finalised which was a great success.
The minister said that the railways would make progress by keeping merit and justice in view.
He expressed his satisfaction over the pace of restructuring work and directed to complete the task in the minimum possible time.
The minister also reviewed the work of under-construction railway stations including Raiwind, Narowal, Bahawalpur and Sahiwal.
Senior railway officers were also present in the meetings.
