Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday has appointed convenors in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). According to a PTI's spokesperson, until party elections after the membership drive, all the existing PTI organisations in Punjab and KP have been reorganised.
The provincial office bearers have been appointed as members of the provincial steering committee. The same formula will govern lower tiers of the party. The regional office bearers will become members of the regional steering committees and similarly the district office bearers will become part of the district steering committee. At all levels new members of the various steering committees will also be added.
The following have been appointed as convenors at different levels in Punjab: Tasneem Noorani as Convenor Punjab, Tipu Sultan as Convenor North Punjab, Mumtaz Kahloon as Convenor West Punjab, Farid ud din Ahmed as Convenor Central Punjab and Feroze Shah Gilani as Convenor South Punjab.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rustam Shah Mohmand has been appointed as Convenor KP, Saleem Jan as Convenor Peshawar, Sher Shah Jan as Convenor Malakand, Brigadier Talat Naqvi as Convenor South and Azhar Tariq as Convenor Hazara. At the level of the district steering committees, district organisers will be the convenors unless they are aspiring to contest for an office in the party elections. In that case they will be replaced in due course.
