Engines purchase scandal: former GM Railways remand extended

An accountability court here on Saturday extended physical remand of former general manager Railway Saeed Akhtar involved in railway engines purchase scandal and handed him over to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials for two weeks.
Earlier, NAB counsel requested the court to for further physical remand as NAB sought more information about the railway engine scandal. He said different spare parts of engines worth of rupees 6.6 million were purchased with his signatures which were not required. The counsel of Saeed Akhtar, however, denied the charges against his client.
