Apple hopes an update of its mobile operating system iOS will clear up data transfer problems with its iPad. Part of the problem was that the tablet could not communicate between GSM and UMTS networks, reported Apple.
Upgrades in Version 5.1.1, which will also apply to other iOS devices, include improvements in photographing with high dynamic range (HDR); with the replay of videos with AirPlay; and with the synchronisation of bookmarks and reading lists between tablet and mobile versions of the Safari browser.
The update should also do away with the unwanted alert "unable to purchase," which often appears even during successful purchases from the iTunes App Store. If Over the Air Update is chosen in Setting, then the new software can be downloaded directly via a wi-fi network. Otherwise, access it via iTunes on a computer.
