Hired killer among three arrested: police

Police on Sunday claimed arresting three suspects, including a killer for hire and a bank robber, in separate raids at various spots in the Sindh metropolis here. According to sources, Sindh Police's Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested an alleged bank robber identified as Mustafa Khattak from North Nazimabad.
SIU chief SP Khurram Waris said that during preliminary interrogation, the accused had confessed committing three bank robberies - two in Karachi and one in Hyderabad with the connivance of security guards. He said that the detained man had looted Rs4 million from a private bank branch located in Ferozabad police remits, Rs4.4 million in limits of North Nazimabad police station and Rs8 million from a bank in Hyderabad. In another raid, FIA claimed to have apprehended a man, identified as Rustam Ali, said to belong to Qambar Shahzad. FIA officials said that he was involved in a murder case in his hometown and escaped to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. They said the arrest was made on a tip-off that he had landed in Karachi from Riyadh. Range Crime police claimed arresting an alleged killer for hire, who was identified as Qadir, son of Shamim, from Korangi.
SP Saqib Sultan said that the accused and his other accomplices were involved in two cases of targeted killings in Zaman Town police precincts.
