After appearing before the accountability court for corruption case hearing on Tuesday morning, deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz's (PML-N) victory in NA-154 by-elections in Lodhran was an answer to all the cases that have been 'falsely' linked to his family.
While speaking to the media after the hearing, Sharif said, ''I feel as if the people of Pakistan were fighting his cases for him.'' He further said that all those who wanted to punish him were being given an answer by the people.

On Tuesday morning, Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (retd) Safdar appeared before the court, pertaining to the corruption references filed against them by the National Accountability Bureau.
During the hearing, Sharif and Maryam filed a petition asking for immunity from appearing at the accountability court from two weeks after February 19, local media reported.
The court proceedings were adjourned to February 15, as the lawyer was not present in court due to the death human rights activist and lawyer Asma Jahangir's death.
