Youm-e-Takbeer will be observed across the country on Monday to commemorate the atomic explosions carried out on May 28, 1998. Pakistan on that day joined the prestigious club of seven-nuclear powers, by conducting nuclear tests to give a befitting response to India's initiative of testing nukes on May 11 and 13, the same year.
Politicians, lawyers and civil society activists will take out rallies, processions and hold seminars to highlight importance of the day. Rich tribute will be paid to the team of nuclear scientists who raised Pakistan's strategic status in the comity of nations and signified the principle of self-reliance.
