Middle class is responsible for the lack of honest political leadership in the country. There is a dire need of public revolution in line with the spirit of Pakistan Movement. Army should not intervene in Pakistani politics as said by Quaid-e-Azam. These thoughts were shared by speakers at a seminar on "Lack of Leadership in Pakistan and Why?" held here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Engr. Abdul Majeed Khan, President TECH Society and Dr Muhammad Sadiq, former President appreciated the efforts of Zubair Sheikh, President TECH Club in highlighting social, political and economic problems and their solutions by conducting 'Fikri Nishsts.'
Speaking on the occasion Qayyum Nizami, former Minister of State said that honest, capable and patriotic leadership should come forward to bring out Pakistan from the ongoing crises being faced by the country.
Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General, Minhajul Qoran said that electoral system should be reformed through national referendum. Gen. Ziauddin, former Chief ISI, said that weak leaders could run strong states but they could not be successful in weaker states.
Dr Mubashar Hassan, former finance minister, told that bad rulers were propped up and bad government system was supported by America. The US was the actual promoter of bad political practices in Pakistan, he added. Pakistan Army topples democratic governments with the backing of the US, he claimed.
To a question, Dr Mubashar said that India would face Pakistan like problems in future Government failed in urban warfare in Liyari and both Police and Judicial system could not safeguard the life and property of the citizens.
