Chairman Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Lieutenant General Sabahat Hussain (Retd) here on Thursday during a meeting of Punjab Cabinet at Chief Minister's Secretariat paid rich tributes to the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for promoting culture of merit in the province and said that not a single recruitment has been made in violation of merit during the last four years which reflects the strict implementation of merit policy of the Chief Minister.
The Chairman PPSC said that when he assumed his office the Chief Minister had directed him that even his own Safarish should not be entertained and he has never received any Safarish from any quarter regarding recruitment during this period. The Chief Minister highly lauded the performance of Chairman PPSC and his entire team and said that they deserved all-out appreciation for the way they have upheld merit.
He said that after a decade merit culture has been adopted in the province and this policy is being strictly implemented in the recruitments in police, education and other departments. Earlier, former Finance Minister, Senator Kamran Michael thanked the Chief Minister for the appointment of minority member of Punjab Assembly Rana Asif as Finance Minister. He said it has proved that the Chief Minister is strictly following the policy of including minorities in the national mainstream.
