Lal Shahbaz Urs celebrations reviewed

Modalities to ensure foolproof security measures and provision of other basic facilities to the devotees on the eve of 760th annual 3 days Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) at Sehwan Sharif were discussed in the meting presided over by Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Agha Suhail Pathan who was also the Chairman of Lal Shahbaz Mela Committee at his office on Friday.
The meeting was informed that International Literary Conference, Sugharan-Ji-Katchery, Agro-Industrial Exhibition, Musical concert and Sindhi wrestling Malakhro would be the main events of the 3 days annual Urs celebrations.
The Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro said that devotees in the number of millions were expected to attend the Urs from all parts of country and abroad as well and thus to pose serious security threats and challenges for the local administration.
He directed the District Police, authorities of Jamshoro to prepare contingency security plan with the support of metal, arms and ammunition detecting equipments and installation of close circuit cameras at various places.
He directed the Assistant Commissioner Sehwan to Co-ordinate with HESCO management about requirement of transformers, standby generators.
He directed the District Traffic Police for preparing road safety plan and asked the District Health Management to arrange ambulances, medicines with para-medics along with the Indus Highway. He said that co-operation from Edhi Welfare Trust, Agha Khan Foundation, Chhipa Trust and other NGOs can be sought in this regard.
