Life-time security for person holding office of Prime Minister

The government has proposed provision of life time security to every person who held the office of prime minister for not less than two years in the Finance Bill 2012 presented Friday in the National Assembly. According to Finance Bill-2012, Amendment of Act LIX of 1975-In the Prime Minister's Salary, Allowances and Privileges Act 1975, after section 16-A, the following new section shall be added, namely.
"17 Security: Every person who has held the office of the Prime Minister for not less than two years, shall be entitled for life to the suitable security, which the Federal Government shall, by notification in official Gazette, specify and make the required arrangements including services of personnel, vehicle or vehicles and allied matters."
Similarly, about the President's pension and perks and privileges, an Amendment has also been proposed in the Finance Bill 2012. According to the Bill, Amendment of Act IX of 1975-In the President's Pension Act 1974(Act IX of 1975), in the schedule, after paragraph (v), the following shall be inserted, namely:- "(va) Suitable security, making the required arrangements including services of personnel, vehicle or vehicles and allied matters, which the federal government shall, by notification in the official Gazette, specify."
