The government has earmarked Rs 12.52 billion for loans and advances to be given to public sector organisations and govt servants in next fiscal year. Budget documents show that an interest-free Rs 40 million loan will be extended to the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda), whereas Rs 3.5 billion has been budgeted for loans to govt servants.
AJK will get Rs 8.5 billion loan in the name of ways and means advance. The government also plans to give Rs 200 million loans and advances to friendly countries. However, no friendly country has been identified in the budget documents. Loans and advances of Rs 4 million will be given to the employees of Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority whereas Rs 1 million will be given to Junagadh and Kathiawar chiefs. Pakistan Mint Lahore will also be given a loan of Rs 11 million for next year.
