The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) wrote on Wednesday a letter to the interior ministry requesting the names of deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar to be placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).
According to local media reports, NAB wrote two separate letters to the ministry. The letters stated that Nawaz is facing three NAB references – Avenfield properties, Azizia and Hill Metal Establishment and Flagship Investments,whereas Maryam and Safdar are accused in Avenfield properties reference.

Earlier, NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal had approved two supplementary references against the Sharif family in Flagship Investments and Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metal Establishment. These references contained fresh evidence regarding the Sharif family.
During the previous hearing on Tuesday, Nawaz and Maryam had filed an application seeking exemption from appearance before an accountability court to travel to London.
