Swiss franc climbs

06 Jun, 2012

The Swiss franc rose to its strongest in a week against the dollar on Tuesday, as the euro extended its rebound on optimism a conference call by Group of Seven policymakers might yield some progress in tackling Europe's debt crisis. The franc was up 0.2 percent against the dollar to trade at 0.9595 compared to the New York close. It had risen as high as 0.9555, its strongest since May 29 but later shed some of those gains. The franc was flat against the euro at 1.2010.
