Commodity prices moved both ways on the wholesale grain market on Wednesday in slow trading, dealers said. Commenting on the lean business, they said that most of the participants were on the sidelines amid expectations for slide in the prices on thin demand and significant increase in the supplies in days to come with substantial stock with retailers, dealers said.
On the cereals side, Gur inferior type was inert at Rs 4400 while the good quality was down by Rs 100 to Rs 5400, the Barley Sindh and Mardan gained Rs 50 to Rs 3400-3450 in process of trading, wheat old and new Bardan rose slightly by Rs 10 to Rs 2610-2640, other items maintained overnight levels amid slow trade, they said. On the rice sector, Irri white drifted lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2600-2700, Basmati low quality was unchanged at Rs 4800 while the best type was higher by Rs 500 to Rs 5500, they said. Prices were unchanged on the grams side, they said.
