Minister of State for National Harmony Akram Masih Gill on Thursday lauded Oil & Gas Development Corporation Limited (OGDCL) recent decision of sending two of its Christian employees after draw to Vatican City, Italy, to perform religious duties.
He said: "We are grateful to OGDCL for the act to acknowledge the services of its minority employees, adding that other departments should also follow the suit." Gill further stated that it is first time in the history of Pakistan that some employees from minority are being sent to perform their religious duties to the Holy city. The act of the department will boost their confidence, he said, adding that it will also enhance Pakistan's soft image in the world. Akram Gill said OGDCL set an example for other departments to recognise its minority employees' services and to think for their betterment.
Minister of State added that present democratic government is going to complete its five years' tenure successfully. Welfare and development projects found chance to work continuously towards their completion and common man's condition moved to be better, he added.-PR
