MOL launches water harvesting structure project in Karak

In line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and its quest for building strong relations with all stakeholders in its operational area, MOL Pakistan recently launched a Water Harvesting Structure Project at Noshpa area (District Karak).
The project is based on consultation with community elders and representatives of local government. This CSR action besides ushering a new era of prosperity in the area will also provide job opportunities to dozens of local people.
Said Kamal, CDO and Afzal Khan, Sr. CRO MOL Pakistan participated in the foundation stone-laying ceremony besides a number of distinguished personalities, including DCO Karak, Director Soil Conservation KPK, and EDO-Agriculture Karak and DO Soil Conservation Karak and local community.
The representatives of the local committee warmly welcomed the officials to the programme and thanked MOL Pakistan, DCO Karak and officials of Soil Conservation Department on initiating such a worthy project for the welfare of poor people.
Yasin Wazir, DO Soil Conservation Karak shared details of the project and explained that principally that its aims to store the sweet rain water, as well as to manage it properly for the benefits of the local community. He informed that a total of 12 structures including two check dams, up-gradation of two springs and seven community ponds will be constructed with a cost of PKR 3.3 million.
In his message MD/CEO MOL Pakistan Erno Lipták congratulated people of the area on launching such an important development activity in the area. He said his company will come forward with such initiatives in future, as well as it understands its responsibility towards economically marginalised communities. He also lauded the efforts of staff of MOL Pakistan in executing the project.
Addressing the gathering, Said Kamal CDO MOL Pakistan said the budget for the project has been increased that will naturally expedite the work on the project. He said MOL Pakistan believes in transparency and that is why everything has been done in a transparent manner. Mohammad Zubair, DCO, Karak recalled his enduring commitment to the project and stressed the need for introducing such projects in other districts as well.
