"Pakistan and Bangladesh enjoys bilateral relationships. Cooperation in academics and research will prove to be beneficial for the nations of both countries because both the countries are struggling to achieve success in all walks of life". This was stated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser during his address to a Bangladeshi delegation that visited University of Karachi.
A twenty-member delegation of Bangladesh consisting of 19 students and Prof. Dr Abul Khair, Department of Botany, Jahangir Nagar University visited University of Karachi for academic exchange of views.
The visit was arranged by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad and consisted of students from University of Dhaka, University of Chittagong, University of Rajashahi and Jahangir Nagar University.
After meeting the Vice Chancellor, the delegation later visited an art exhibition by Visual Studies Department, HEJ Research Institute, Area Study Centre for Europe and Pakistan Study Centre. Registrar Prof Dr Nasiruddin Khan and Students' Advisor- Prof Dr Ansar Rizwi also attended the event during which the Bangladeshi students asked questions of interest related to the Karachi University and Pakistan.
During their visit to Area Study Centre for Europe, Prof Dr Moonis Ahmar, Director, Area Study Centre for Europe welcomed the delegation and informed them about the activities carried out at the Centre.
Prof Abul Khair briefed about the activities in various universities of Bangladesh and socio-economic development of his country. At the end of the programme Director, Area Study Centre for Europe presented a shield and a set of publications of the Centre to the chief of visiting Bangladeshi delegation.
