Complete shutdown will be observed in occupied Kashmir on Monday to mark the start of Martyrs Week in memory of all Kashmiri martyrs including those 122 innocent youth, who were killed by Indian troops and police personnel during 2010 uprising in the territory. Call for observance of the Week has been given by the forum patronised by the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, KMS reported.
It was on 11th June in 2010 when a Kashmiri teenager, Tufail Mattoo, was shot dead by Indian troops in occupied Srinagar. The killing had triggered massive anti-India demonstrations in the occupied territory and within a period of three months 122 protesters were killed by Indian forces. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in occupied Srinagar said that it was the responsibility of Kashmiri people to keep the martyrs in their memories, carry on their mission, and prevent their sacrifices from going waste.
