Keeping in view the expected spell of hot and dry weather in coming days, growers are advised to irrigate their crops as per need, the met office has said. "Farmers of rain-fed areas, obtaining crop water through tube wells are also advised to schedule the irrigation according to the expected weather conditions during the next 10 days," the office said in its advisory.
It also warned the farmers of the pre-monsoon currents are expected in the last week of June. The office said daytime temperature is expected to drop gradually by June 14 to June 16 and may rise subsequently in the country. Weather in Punjab, Khyber Pakhunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to remain hot and dry from June 11 to June 20, the office forecast.
However, it said light rain and dust-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in the agricultural plains of upper and central parts of Punjab from June 11 to June 13 and June 18 to June 19.
