BRTS being executed at cost of Rs 21 billion: Shahbaz

On the directives of the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) is being executed at a cost of Rs 21 billion in the city for providing world-class transport facilities to the people of Lahore. This was informed during a meeting of a four-member delegation of Turkish consultant firm ULASIM Istanbul, which called on the Lahore Development Authority Director General Ahad Khan Cheema here on Tuesday.
Chief Engineer TEPA Saeed Akhter and Project Director Mazhar Hussain Asif briefed the delegation about the ongoing progress on this project. The delegation was also told that the 30 kilometers long project, extending from Gajumatta at Ferozepur Road to Shahdara, has been divided into eight packages where civil work was being executed simultaneously, the 7.5 kilometers long package of project from Kalima Chowk to Bhatti Gate will be constructed as an elevated express way, which would be eight meters high from the ground level.
