Petitioner seeks proceedings against Riaz

14 Jun, 2012

A bar member Mushtaq Ahmed Mohal has approached the Lahore High Court against Malik Riaz for initiation of contempt of court proceedings. The petitioner contended that respondent Malik Riaz just to blackmail and scandalise the judiciary held a press conference and declared son of Chief Justice Pakistan (CJP) Arslam Chaudhry as don for controlling the judiciary.
The contemptuous remarks of the respondent have caused a severe blow to the honesty and sanctity of the CJP and the whole judicial system in Pakistan. He, therefore, prayed the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Malik Riaz and convict him under contempt of court act for deliberately committing an offence.
